Christmas Decorating

Nathanael and I had decided to wait until the 1st of December to put up all our Christmas decorations and let me tell you it was so hard to wait. We wanted to put them up months ago but with American Thanksgiving at the end of November we thought we should wait until after that.

We bought some meat and cheese and a cheese ball (our favorite) and had a snacky dinner. I even made apple crisp because Nathanael really wanted some. I was lucky because Nathanael peel, cored and sliced a whole bunch of apples my parents bought us a few months ago and put them in the freezer so making the crisp was easy.

Nathanael got to put up the star this year, and not because he's so tall (our tree's only 6 feet).

I put the garland down the stairs and added beads and extra tree decorations. The wreath behind me I made last year and I love it. It was so easy to make and inexpensive.

These are the stockings I made last year (with my mother-in-law's help). I love how they turned out and I'm pretty proud of them!

Here's our new tree topper, we didn't have one last year (we just wired a star ornament to the top) but I relly like this new one.

And the finished product! I love our tree. We just bought the tree and are very happy that we have one of our own now. We used white lights and gold, green and purple ornaments. You can't really tell from the photo but we used gold tinsel and purple beads and it turned out really pretty.
After christmas I was to look ornaments on sale so we have a variety and can use different colors each year. I would like to have a blue and silver set, a dark red and gold set, and a handmade set.
You can see more photos of our decorations and more of my photography here

My family growing up always had matching stockings, I love it! I hope you keep that up with your future children!

Wow Ashlee you are so talented with a sewing machine. You made Evelyn that pretty blanket and stuff. I am so jealous of your stockings. My mom is also amazing...and I never took the time to learn growning up..but am really regreting it now.
