Baby Gift

A Friend of mine had her first baby, a boy, on Valentine's Day. How wonderful! I'm taking them dinner tonight and I thought it would be nice to take them a little gift too. But what? She told me already, in past conversations, that they have a lots of clothes and other baby stuff and she couldn't think of anything specific that they still needed. So I thought for a while about diapers or bottles or...ugh, I had no idea. Until I remembered, duh, that I'm crafty (creative and evil). Anyway, I decided not to buy something but to make something...

...tadah! The frame was plain untreaded wood (it's not really shaped like that) and about 2-3 inches thick, I painted it brown and cute out the L from borwn cardstock. It was a simple project, it only took an hour or so, including painting and drying time. Simple, inexpensive baby gift! My brother-in-law and his wife and their little boy just moved into their first place since they were married 5 years ago and I want to make something similar for them, just bigger.

You can see another photo of this project, with a better view of the frame, and other projects at my other blog The Paper Heart.
