The Strange and Fabulous "Pea Pod" Bowl

I really can't think anything else to call it. It really looks like a pea pod to me. I picked it up at DI last week and couldn't put it down. Usually I'll find something at DI and pick it up, carry it a few feet and then put it down again. But I couldn't let this one go. Especially since it was only 50 cents. You can't go wrong for 50 cents.

So the shape is really cool...but it was really scratched up and I wasn't a fan of the slightly orange color of the wood. So I painted it. And distressed it. I've never distressed something before so this was kind of a shot in the dark, but I really like it now.

Ya, it's on the toilet tank, I picked the colors specifically for the bathroom. Our shower curtain is the same colors.

I'm so happy with the sanding, it think it turned out really well. I put some decorative rocks in all three openings but I want to find a little fake bird's nest and some eggs to put in the middle one.

Oh, and tomorrow I will show you the other wooden bowl I painted forever ago and just distressed the other day.
