Drift Creek Trail

While we were in Oregon we decided to go on a hike, yes, I went on a hike. It was actually a lot of fun, hard, but fun. The total trip was 3 miles and the scenery was so beautiful. We went before noon and the weather was great.

I hate getting my picture taken but Nathanael insisted. When I was looking at the photos the other day I realized my pant legs were still rolled up. I rolled them up so the wouldn't get in the mud, there was a lot of mud.

The biggest reason we went on the hike was because I had read about it on the internet and read that at the end of the trail was a 250 foot suspension bridge and a 100 foot waterfall. I love suspension bridges so I was excited to cross this one.

Pretty cool right! Growing up near Vancouver, British Columbia I've been to the Capilano suspension bridge several times and hadn't been to one in years, so it was fun to cross such a long one again.

The waterfall was so pretty, it made me want to go swimming.

Then, on the way back, Nathanael got hungry and ate some...moss...lichen...whatever that stuff is.

Kidding, he didn't.
Here's a tip if you are planning a trip to the Oregon coast. Find a place that sells the Oregon Pacific Coast Passport ($35 for the whole year or $10 for five days) and get one. If you're planning to visit more than one place that requires a day-use fee it will be worth it to pick up the passport. We were planning on getting one but all the places we went to first have a self pay station where you put the fee in an envelope and drop it in the box, putting the tear off piece on the dash of your car. Luckily the three places we went with a day-use fee only ended up costing us $15 in total so we only spent $5 more than the passport would have cost. But look into picking one up if you go. The Yaquina Head Lighthouse station sells them.
