So I'm sure you're bored of all my Oregon photos. I'm not, I'm sad that I'm not still there. Oh well, it was a month ago. So what have I been doing since then? Well, DI shopping and crafting mostly.
I found this tin spoon the last time I was at DI. It's about 10 inches long and actually says Short'ning and Ice Cream Spoon. How cute...plus it was only 25 cents.
A while ago I found a cute little whisk, it was only about 5 inches long but the wodden handle was pretty ugly, so I fixed it.
How cute. I painted it brown and then turquoise and sanded away until I liked the way it looked.
I've been collecting cute kitchen stuff for a shelf I had been meaning to paint for ages. I found the shelf at DI for $1.50 and loved it. So I found some cool old kitchen stuff.

The muffin tin is really cool because of the texture. I've enver seen one like that. It was $1. The little cheese grater you can barely see was 50 cents and I love the silver plated serving spoons (and fork) in the glass jar. The very nice guy at DI only charged me 25 cetns for each serving spoon, they were pretty grungy, very blackened. but I "polished" them up a little with toothpaste. i didn't want them super shiny and the toothpaste really did a great job.

This little box I got for 50 cents, it was pretty dirty and plain wood. So I cleaned it up and painted it 3 or 4 different colors and then went at it with sand paper. I think I want to sand it more to show more colors and wear. I also need to find some stuff to put in it.
So here's the finished shelf. It was a big job, trust me. I forgot to take a "before" photo but it was red...fire engine red. This isn't the finished arrangement, I'm going to hang some on the spoons on the bottom shelf from the dowel rod on the bottom.
