Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson's public memorial was today and while I was only able to see a little of it, it was touching. It's still strange to me that MJ is gone. But at the memorial Smokey Robinson said:

"He will never really be gone. He is going to live forever and ever and ever and ever."

And I believe it's true, you could never forget him. It won't be allowed. He did wonderful things for the world, all over. He opened doors and showed people the way. And I love what Rev. Al Sharpton said to Michael's children:

"There wasn't nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with. He dealt with it anyway. He dealt with it for us."

I loved MJ. I was listening to his music the day he died without knowing what had happened. When I was little I watched Free Willy over and over, sometimes just to listen to his song at the end. I know I'm too young to have grown up with him but in my lifetime he has always been around, always there. It's just weird now. Also, I know how much of an icon he was but still remember was was a father, a son, a friend and a human being.
